Dear teachers, students:

Good afternoon!

I don't know if you have heard this story. During the reign of Emperor Taizong Zhenguan, there was a horse and a donkey in a mill in the west of Chang 'an City. They are good friends, horses are pulling things outside, and donkeys are grinding in the house. In the third year of Zhenguan, the horse was selected by Master Xuan Award and set off for India to learn from the Western Regions.

Seventeen years later, the horse returned to Chang 'an carrying Buddhist scriptures. He returned to the mill to meet his donkey friends, and talked about the experiences of this journey: the vast desert, the mountains rising into the sky, and the glittering and translucent snow and ice made the donkey greatly envious. The donkey exclaimed, "What a wealth of information you have! I can't even think about such a distant road. "

"In fact," said the old horse, "the distance we crossed was roughly equal. When I moved forward to the Western Regions, you didn't stop at all. The difference is that I have a distant goal with Master Xuan Award, and we are moving in a consistent direction, so we see a vast world. And you are blindfolded, and you will revolve around the millstone all your life, so you will never get out of this narrow world. "

Yes, our lives are all limited. In the same time, do we go forward like horses with goals, or do we spin around the enclosure like donkeys? To narrow it down, everyone is a four-year university. In these four years, do you have a clear goal to go forward? Still have no goal, muddleheaded silkworm, just like the jingle sings, "Never get up, never get tired of studying, often can't sleep at night, think about who is the best match, knowing that you can't learn wrong, still drink and party, you can't do anything in the exam, but you can retreat after you rebuild it"?

I once had such confusion, that is, when I first entered university, I lost my simple and direct goal in high school-getting into university, and I almost lost my way in a free and almost unmanned university, and even became obsessed with online games. Until a constitutional class, the teacher asked us: "If ideal is a lamp of the soul, what is your lamp?" Is to take an examination of civil servants? Making money as a lawyer? Or study the law for the progress of the legal system? "

At that time, we were all silent. I think of my father. My father was the first college student after resuming the college entrance examination. After living in school with tofu and rice, he gave up the advantage of working in the city when he graduated, and went home to be a teacher for twenty years. When I was young, I didn't know my father's choice. Until one day, I dug up my father's work diary. My father wrote: "The outside world is wonderful, but I need me more here, so I came back."

At that moment, I read my father, read the lamp in his heart-like many college students in that era, he made selfless dedication, took the responsibility of building his hometown and popularizing education, and has been fighting for his ideal so far. Now that we have grown up, what is our ideal? So, I set foot on my own way to find the lamp.

I look in the books of law. From ancient Babylonian code to today's laws and regulations, the law has been telling the story of fairness and justice in the most rigorous language, and recording the dream of society. Gradually, I fell in love with such language. I went to my predecessors to look for it. Go to lectures by scholars and debate with seniors. When I saw that they would forget all about eating and sleeping in order to clarify a law, and they would have a one-night sleeping meeting over a case, I found the faith and spirit that a legal person should have, and also determined my own direction.

I also look for it from practice. When I went home on leave, I became a volunteer for popularizing the law, and went to the village to publish newspapers and seal the fields to do research. I am happy to apply what I have learned, and I am sad to see the tragedy caused by many people's ignorance of the law. I just realized that letting people in the whole society know the law and abide by it is the most powerful guarantee for building a harmonious society.

Gradually, I found the lamp in my heart. This society needs laws, and it needs people who popularize laws. I told myself that I wanted to be a judge of the Republic, a guardian of the law, an explorer of the law and a disseminator of the law. Teachers and classmates, today, when I carry brick-thick law textbooks to shuttle through classrooms and libraries, and when I walk on every stage with confidence, I am not afraid of the hardships, let alone the hardships in the future, because I know that I have found the lamp in my heart, which illuminates my university and my future, and I want to fight for my ideal.

Teachers and students, let's find the lamp in our hearts together. Then use our passion and blood to guard the lamp, and use our hard work and efforts to burn the lamp. When all people have ideals, when people are struggling for ideals, and when all the lights are close to each other, what we have is not only a full life, but also a harmonious society composed of individuals who make progress together for ideals.
