Play at Lijing Gate

One day during the Spring Festival, I went to visit Lijingmen with my parents.

By the time we arrived at Lijingmen, it was already evening. Everyone often said: "If you don't come to Lijing Gate, you will come to Luoyang City in vain." Sure enough, you can see a tall tower from a distance, which looks majestic in the night, with "Lijing Gate" written directly above the gate. The three big characters are illuminated by various lights all around, which adds an enchanting look to the tower. The flowers and trees in the green belt beside the road also look lush under the light. Going further, the moat in front of the tower flows gently, and the stone lions on the bridge pillars look very cute, as if they are welcoming tourists. Enter the gate through Lijing Bridge. In the middle is an oval urn city, surrounded by four-story towers. It is said that Lijing Gate was first built in the Sui Dynasty, and the current Lijing Gate was built in 2002, but I was not born yet at that time! We looked through the trees in the green belt, stood on the bridge, and walked into the west. Viewed from the street, there are different views from different angles.

Entering the Lijing Gate, you will be the Old Town Street. On both sides of the street are old houses and houses, lined with roads paved with bluestone slabs, forming the unique historical features and ancient architectural styles of the ancient city. Luoyang is an ancient cultural city, so the merchants on the streets of the old city mostly sell antique calligraphy and paintings, and local snacks in Luoyang. Because Luoyang's peonies are particularly famous, some shops directly set up tables at the door to paint for customers, and most of them are paintings. Peony, there are many shops that make peony silver silk cakes and peony flower cakes. If you ask me what is the most famous snack in Old Town Street, I will answer without hesitation: "Don't turn the soup!" You see, there is a long line of people who come to drink the soup without turning it, and some of them are directly here. Outside the shop, inside and outside the shop is full of fragrance, I think anyone will be attracted to it!

Go inside and you will reach Cross Street. If you come to the old city but do not come to Cross Street, your journey is not perfect! The big red lanterns on both sides of the street add to the festive celebration. There are all kinds of snacks in the street: water seats, dragons Mustard cakes, sweet-scented osmanthus candy..., the people who saw it were dazzled and drooled!

It was late at night, but the streets were still crowded. Walking on the bluestone road, you can feel the heavy historical and cultural accumulation of the old city everywhere. The Lijing Gate is a symbol of the ancient city of Luoyang. It has been given a new sight after people’s eulogy, so that people can appreciate its atmosphere and ancient charm at the first sight. I love the Lijing Gate in the old city. Love my hometown-Luoyang!
