Camel Xiangzi is a literary work written by Lao She, a famous writer in China. It has twenty-four chapters. The article is full of ups and downs, telling the tragic life of Xiangzi, the working people in this dark period in the 20th century. Xiangzi was a rickshaw puller in rural Beiping. He was young, strong, handy and not afraid of hardship. He was determined to make money and buy his own car. After three years of hard work, he finally saved enough money, got a car of his own, and became more confident in the industry of pulling carts. But not long after, there was a war in Beiping. In the midst of war and chaos, Xiangzi's car was snatched by an officer. When he escaped, he only took three camels and exchanged them for thirty-five dollars. That's how the title of "Camel Xiangzi" came from. Later, he met Tigress and Si Liu, worked as a driver in Si Liu's factory, married Tigress, and got to know Mr. Cao, a kind and considerate teacher. But then Mr. Cao was mistaken for a disorderly party, and the money Xiangzi earned to buy a second car was cheated by Detective Sun. After he got married with Tigress, he bought a third car with her money. Tigress was pregnant, and she was lazy all day, but Xiangzi sold the car because Tigress died in childbirth. During Tigress's pregnancy, she met Xiaofuzi, who was sold to an officer by Er Hadron, and asked Xiaofuzi to take care of her. After Tigress died, Xiangzi moved away. After a while, Xiangzi came back. He came back to look for Joy. He walked many places, searched hard, and finally heard from her, only to learn that she had hanged herself. From then on, Xiangzi was no longer the hard-working, kind and upright driver he used to be. He began to degenerate and become lazy, loafing around all day, eating, drinking, whoring and gambling, doing nothing right, and completely reduced to a real people at the bottom of society. Mr. Lao She's intention in writing this article is to satirize the darkness of the old China society and to express his deep sympathy for the working people. However, although Xiangzi's final outcome was tragic, his perseverance in his dream is worth learning. The title "Camel Xiangzi" is also appropriate, because Xiangzi has a camel-like positive and tenacious spirit. Although today's society is no longer as corrupt as the old China, there are some people who are a disgrace to the new China. And in my life, I have met those people. "Daughter, the oil at home is gone. Help your mother to buy a bottle!" I came to the shop door, picked out the oil, and lined up to pay. Time passed by bit by bit. I looked at the clock on the wall. Ten minutes had passed, but it wasn't my turn yet. Suddenly, I saw an old woman in tattered clothes standing at the cash register, thinking: What will happen? So I went up to have a look, and it was. A white-haired and wrinkled grandmother was holding a piece of bread in her hand. When she was about to pay for it, she found that she didn't have it with her. She discussed it with the cashier and said, "Young man, I forgot my money when I went out. I'll leave the bread with you first. I'll go home and get the money. I'll come later." As soon as the old woman put down the bread in her hand, she heard a low-pitched curse from the cashier: "Old woman, you dare to come here to buy things without money. If you have no money, get out of here!" We won't give you charity here. " Hearing this, I was slightly shocked: a cashier in a big store, a young man, could be such a person with no quality. Maybe those customers are surprised and chilling, and their faces have changed. When the grandmother heard this, she was even more angry and unwilling, so she angrily said to the cashier, "Young man, how can you say that?" At least you are also educated, how can you say such a thing! " The cashier's brother also replied, "I can't teach you a lesson, but you are not welcome here." When this was said, the surrounding customers couldn't stand it anymore, and they all came out to help grandma speak. A kind customer came out to persuade: "Let's stop arguing and listen to me. Cashier, why do you say that? She just wants to go back and get the money, and she hasn't done anything improper. Instead, if you do this, it will not only affect the business in the store, but also make others change your mind and think you are what kind of person you are. " He didn't say what kind of person he was, but everyone knew it well with the cashier. Under the eyes of the public, the young man didn't refute anything again, so he had to turn and leave. I was deeply touched by the events of that day: it's not the dark times before. Why can't some people be tolerant of others? Why can't people live in harmony? I don't know what they think, but I hope that one day, the world will be peaceful forever. |
